How should I take care of my jewelry?

14K Plated Jewelry 

The majority of our jewelry is 14K gold or rhodium plated with a base metal of brass. While our products are designed to be water-resistant, we recommend the following:

• Even jewelry needs a night off: Store the earrings in a cool, dry place using the packaging they come in. A jewelry box works too if you have one. Avoid humid places (like your bathroom, for example).
• Stay dry: Sweat, pools, sunscreen, hair products, and even makeup may affect your jewelry. To prolong the life of your Ana Luisa pieces, we suggest avoiding consistent contact with any lotions, perfumes, or similar products. 

• Keep it clean: A microfiber polishing cloth will keep your pieces shining. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners or abrasive soaps.

10K Solid Gold Jewelry

The 10K gold we use for our products is extremely durable. Even so, the finest metals can be affected by the elements and require gentle care to last a lifetime. When you're not wearing your solid gold jewelry, we recommend storing it in a cool, dry place. You can use a soft polishing cloth, or a combination of dish soap and warm water (small amounts of each) to help remove dirt and oil that can build up with regular wear. A professional jeweler can also provide a restorative cleaning to take things to the next level. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.

Permanent Jewelry

Our permanent bracelets and anklets are made with 10K Solid Gold and Sterling Silver chains. We offer these bracelets in a variety of chain types.

Any discoloring on the chain from the welding process will naturally wash away over time (in the shower, washing hands, regular wear, etc.). If your Solid Gold jewelry begins to lose its initial high polish, use a polishing cloth to restore its shine. If you feel like you need to take your jewelry care to the next level, you can use gentle dish soap and a baby toothbrush to softly and carefully clean your jewelry.
